Our Story
The Eaton Fire destroyed over 16,000 structures in Altadena. One year later, 70% of severely damaged homes still show no rebuilding progress. Families are waiting. The work is there. But there are not enough trained workers to do it.
Trent Rowser has been a licensed general contractor for over 30 years. He is on the ground right now rebuilding homes in Altadena. And he sees the same problem every day: the demand for skilled construction workers far exceeds the supply.
TR Dream Builders is his answer. A nonprofit created to train the next generation of construction workers right here in Los Angeles, so the people who rebuild this community come from this community.

Mission
Los Angeles is facing a construction workforce crisis at the worst possible time. Thousands of Altadena families need their homes rebuilt. New fire codes require specialized knowledge. And the workers who know how to do this work are retiring faster than they can be replaced.
Meanwhile, young adults across LA are looking for careers that pay well and start now. They do not need a four-year degree. They need training, certifications, and a chance.
TR Dream Builders connects both sides. We train young adults ages 18 to 30 for careers in the construction trades through hands-on field experience, classroom education, and industry certifications. Our graduates do not just learn about building. They build. On real job sites. In real communities. Starting with Altadena.
For graduates ready to go further, we offer scholarships covering contractor licensing exams. If you put in the work, we make sure cost is never the reason you do not get licensed.
Our Programs
Classroom & Safety Training
Build a Strong Foundation
Learn the essential skills required on every construction site, including construction math, blueprint reading, OSHA safety standards, California building codes, and wildfire-resistant construction practices. Safety and knowledge come first.
Trade Rotations
Explore Multiple Skilled Trades
Gain hands-on experience across key construction disciplines including framing, concrete, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and prefabricated construction. Discover the trade that best matches your skills and career goals.
Field Training
Real Job Site Experience
Work alongside experienced professionals on active construction and rebuilding projects throughout Los Angeles. Develop practical skills, follow industry safety protocols, and gain the experience employers value most.
Capstone Project
Demonstrate Your Skills
Plan, budget, and complete a construction project as part of a team. Present your work to industry partners, contractors, and community leaders while showcasing everything you've learned throughout the program.
Certifications Earned
Industry-Recognized Credentials
Earn valuable certifications that strengthen your resume and improve job opportunities, including OSHA 10 & 30-Hour Safety, CPR & First Aid, Forklift Safety, Fall Protection, and the TR Dream Builders Certificate of Completion.
Licensing Scholarships
Support for Future Contractors
Qualified graduates receive assistance with CSLB licensing exam fees, preparation courses, and testing costs. We help remove financial barriers so motivated participants can advance their careers and become licensed contractors.
